Penelope's Story
Life
Born San Antonio, TX, USA. Grew up in Texas, Washington, Hawaii, California, England, Taiwan and New York. Officially a graduate of Homer Central HS but consider TAS (Taipei American to BE my high school). Joined Women's Army Corps straight our of HS. (Basic Tng-Bravo Co; Advanced-Clerical Tng; Asgd USAH-West Point, NY) After WAC, moved to Boston. Lived there until 1973 (except for school year 1967-68 at SUNY, Cortland, NY). Moved to Atlanta. From 1976-78, lived in Ft Lauderdale. Moved back to Atlanta. Joined the Army Reserve in Sep-1979....Expand for more
In 1980 moved (home / back) to San Antonio. Graduated college (Univ. of Texas-San Antonio) in 1991 (got my MBA in '95). Moved to LA in Oct-94 and married my best friend, Glen, in 1997. Promoted to Sergeant Major Dec-2000, assigned to HQ 351st Civil Affairs Command, Mountain View, CA. Graduated from US Sergeants Major Academy 2003. Mandatorily retired from the Army on my 60th birthday. Returned to San Antonio (and officially became a retired person) in 2013. (Yeehaw!)
Looking forward to the 50-year TAS reunion in Denver this September (2014).
